EXPLORE MY BOOK

UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY EXPLAINED: The Link Between Immune Dysfunction, Digestive Disorders, Hormonal Imbalances and Infertility.

Whether you are new to infertility – or have already struggled with unexplained infertility – or have even experienced recurrent implantation failure, there is information in my book to restore your fertility. I experienced all of the circumstances above and throughout my book I share my detailed experience with you in each chapter.

Any form of infertility, whether it is explained or unexplained, is an indication that there is an imbalance in the body. In fact, infertility is our body’s way of communicating that something is not right. However, unexplained infertility introduces significantly more complex challenges in solving the problem because it often integrates multiple factors together including immune system dysfunction, digestive disorders and hormonal imbalances. Conventional medicine’s limited comprehensive treatment of the body as a whole is ineffective for unexplained infertility. This is where functional or integrative medicine comes in. These approaches consider the body as an integrative system, aiming to uncover and address underlying causes of health issues rather than alleviating symptoms. The principles for restoring fertility that are outlined in this book originate from an integrative approach to healing the body.

Chronic inflammation and hormonal imbalances often lie at the core of acquired infertility. However, each woman’s experience with infertility is unique. The symptoms, imbalances, and required interventions or nutritional support can vary significantly from one individual to another.

There is a path to resolving unexplained infertility. The question is – how far upstream do you need to go find your explanation? To find your answers, you must first understand the basics of fundamental health. You’ll need to monitor your symptoms and reflect accurately on your health history to uncover underlying health issues. Identifying these issues is a crucial step in navigating the path to becoming pregnant. Depending on the severity of your root causes, you may uncover serious underlying factors that require medical attention beyond fertility and pregnancy. Or you may find yourself closer to your goal of becoming pregnant by simply introducing moderate lifestyle changes.

Part One of my book introduces you to the concept of infertility, both explained and unexplained.

  • In Chapter 1, we check in with the current society’s view on unexplained infertility as a diagnosis (and how fundamentally useless it may be). I present information that delves deeper into the root causes of unexplained infertility, citing immune dysfunction as the culprit for “idiopathic” unexplained infertility and recurrent implantation failure, areas where conventional medicine stops short of resolving and treating.
  • Chapter 2 presents the already known infertility conditions, most importantly underscoring chronic inflammation and hormonal imbalances as the common underlying threads that are driving these “treatable” causes of infertility. The same underlying factors behind known conditions of infertility are behind unexplained infertility.
  • In Chapter 3, I candidly share my clinical experience in dealing with unexplained infertility. I hope that by being open and transparent, I can highlight the unnecessary challenges that many of us face. It may relate to what you are experiencing or have experienced in the past.

Part Two of my book explores the root causes of unexplained infertility and otherwise chronic disease.

  • In Chapter 4, I capture what is chronic inflammation and its triggers. These are at the center of every chronic disease in our current society, some of which may be accompanying your unexplained infertility – as they did mine.
  • Chapter 5 presents on the largest (and most overlooked) governor for overall health and fertility which is gut microbial balance. The links between digestive disorders and immune dysfunction are profound and now well-established in scientific research. The information goes over the common causes of poor gut health as they relate to those underlying issues.
  • In Chapter 6, I introduce chronic (reactivated) viral infections as the problem most people suffering from idiopathic conditions such as unexplained infertility and recurrent implantation failure didn’t know they had. This was a significant factor that contributed to my unexplained infertility.

Part Three of my book focuses on defining the path to restoring your fertility.

  • In Chapter 7, I emphasize that the pathway to restoring fertility begins with clearing your body of chronic infections and toxins. I maintain the criticality of effective detoxification with a healthy liver and digestion to establishing balance in the body. I also provide information to raise awareness about daily exposure to toxins that can disrupt fertility.
  • Chapter 8 explains hormonal imbalances as the manifested symptoms of immune dysfunction, digestive disorders and impaired detoxification. Hormonal imbalances are often the first to be uncovered in the diagnosis of infertility by conventional medicine, although the treatment offered by most fertility clinics fall short of addressing the root cause, let alone solving unexplained infertility.
  • In Chapter 9, I highlight blood sugar imbalance as the most prevalent hormonal imbalance in western society, that is now an epidemic because of normalized, unhealthy lifestyle practices. Despite being common, many people with insulin resistance are unaware they have it and it is a major factor contributing to infertility.
  • Chapter 10 brings together all of the aspects for restoring fertility. It offers an implementation strategy to uncover hidden infections, regulate digestion, bolster detoxification and balance hormones to regain your health and well-being – many of which start with daily habits in the comfort of your home.

Regardless, I encourage you to work with medical practitioners who can support you in this process. Don’t allow yourself to be dismissed or discouraged by anyone. There are brilliant, open-minded and research-forward medical teams who are looking for answers and will work with you to find those. Together, you can take the initiative to regaining your fertility and maintain accountability of your health moving forward.
